Nothing tastes better than when its homemade and it's usually always healthier when you make things yourself. These homemade graham crackers are no exception. They taste so good you may never go back to store bought again.

Sure, they are made with ingredients you know and can pronounce and are not "processed." However, the flavor of homemade graham crackers is what sets them apart from store-bought and they are super simple to make!

Supplies Needed:
  • large mixing bowl
  • large spatula
  • measuring spoons/cups
  • stand mixer or hand mixer
  • rolling pin
  • baking sheet
  • parchment paper or silicone baking mat

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 Tbs. honey
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Combine butter, sugar, salt, cinnamon, vanilla & honey in a large bowl or the bowl of your stand mixer. Mix on medium speed until smooth and there are no more lumps.

Combine flour and baking soda in a separate bowl - gradually the flour mixture into the wet ingredients a little at a time. Mix until ingredients are just incorporated, making sure not to overtax!! If dough is to crumbly add a teaspoon of water at a time until it comes together.

Roll out dough between two pieces of parchment or on a silicone baking mat to your desired thickness - I prefer a cookie-like graham cracker (no surprise there) so I use a 3/8" thickness. If you prefer something crunchier and more traditional use 1/8" thickness.

Sprinkle generously with sugar and cinnamon  (I like a 2:1 ratio). Then cut into individual sizes - you can get fancy and use cookie cutters to make fun shapes or basic and use a pizza cutter to cut them into individual squares.

Place crackers 2" apart on a baking sheet and freeze for 30 minutes, then bake for 15-20 minutes in a 350 degree oven.

Store the baked graham crackers in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks. Or, you can freeze then for up to 3 months. However, I doubt they will last in you house for more than a couple of days - they are THAT good!!
